Description

I took this picture while working on an article of Astrology, on my desk, near my pc. A book I was reading and my mug.
Near to each other, The Caduceus of Hermes and The Rod of Asclepius (or Esculapio), the demigod of medicine and healing in ancient Greek mythology.
The snake is a symbol of rebirth.
The link between the Caduceus of Hermes and medicine seems to have arisen when Hermes had come to be linked with Alchemy.
The Rod has no wings; some say no wings were necessary since the essence of medicine is not speed.

What really counts for me is that it was used by the ASTROLOGER priests in the Eleusinian Mysteries of ancient Greece!
